City and region representatives are hoping for safe weekend

The Barum Czech Rally is ready to start. Despite the original plans, the jubilee edition of the competition was deferred and moved to this year's summer. On top of that, more significant hygiene measures are going to be needed. However, the important is that the drivers can finally face the start. Also, the main partners – the Zlín region, the city of Zlín and the Continental Barum company – are looking forward to the weekend full of motorsport.

These covid days, organizing events is difficult, especially in case of such a huge event as the Barum rally is. A functional cooperation of the organizers with the partners belongs to the elemental conditions. "Four or five months ago, we made sure together that the rally competition is a good time to finally defeat the pandemic. We all have been looking forward and now, the awaited day is here," said the Governor of the Zlín region Radim Holiš at the press conference.

The vaccination and more significant hygiene measures enabled the organizers to prepare this year's rally in the usual range. "I would like to thank the staff. The vaccination is a way how to enjoy the Barum safely. On this occasion, I must point to the possibility of being vaccinated during the event with no registration needed," added Holiš.

As the popularity of the night special stage placed in the centre of Zlín proves, the traditional racing competition is tightly connected not only with the region but also with the town itself. "For our city, the Barum rally is one of the most important events. We will always do our best in helping the organizers so the rally can stay here in the future as well," stated the Mayor of the Zlín city Jiří Korec.

"Retrospectively, I can say that the decision to wait and to move the jubilee edition to this summer we made last year was right. Today, the spectators can be here with us. Without them, the competition would not be complete," noted the mayor.

The Continental Barum company have been participating in the rally organization as a partner since the very first edition in 1971. "And I hope our cooperation will continue. We have a lot of experience with producing tyres and our company is celebrating its 150th anniversary of origin soon. So, I wish good tyres the drivers and a great experience the fans," said the Managing Director Libor Láznička.
