Orsák Rallysport with five cars at the Barum Czech Rally Zlín
22. 8. 2014 - Petr Linhart, Barum Czech Rally Zlín
The Orsák Rallysport squad will be the largest team in the RC2 top category during the upcoming Barum Czech Rally Zlín. Czech team based in Valašské Klobouky will be there with five crews, where three of them are going to use top-class Škoda Fabia S2000 cars.
"Barum Czech Rally Zlín is the most important event of the year. There will appear all five crews whose cars we maintain in the current season. It's nothing easy to prepare the logistics for such numerous team, but I'm sure we can manage that," says Jaroslav Orsák, the team owner. He's the one who regularly competes in the ERC with his Škoda Fabia S2000. After gentle start of the season he started to prove his speed, but due to few unlucky moments and minor driving mistakes he's been still waiting for some strong results.
Second ERC regular running under the Orsák Rallysport flag is Jaroslav Hudec who competes mainly in the ERC Production Cars cup. But his appearance at Zlín-based event was threatened few days back as he injured his shoulder during the exercise before Czech local rallysprint. "I dislocated my collarbone. However it wasn't anything serious. I started to rehabilitate the shoulder immediately and this week I'm already doing the exercising again. The bone joint doesn't hurt anymore, but there's still a strained insertion which I feel mainly when shifting gears. The biggest pain comes at fifth gear, so I probably shift it up only once and then I keep it there up to the rally finish!" says with his typical usual sense of humour Hudec, who's again going to use a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX in the R4 specification.
Another team's Fabia S2000 will be occupied by Martin Vlček, who usually competes in Czech rally championships. His recent switch from 2WDs to four-wheelers has been so far very successful, however Barum rally is still a challenger to him. "It's our private K2 mountain – still unreached. We hope that with our seventh try at Barum rally we keep the breath up to the end," describes Vlček's co-driver Richard Lasevič their ambitions. Also Tomáš Kurka is a novice to the Škoda Fabia S2000. He used to drive a production Mitsubishi for many years and now he's been learning to a new driving style following from different characteristics of naturally aspirated car. And the last of the Orsák Rallysport quintet is Tomáš Růžička who left the Subaru cars for the first time and in 2014 has used a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. Růžička has been focused mainly on Czech national rallysprint championship, but he can't miss the Barum Czech Rally Zlín as his home event.
