Magnificent Buggatis again in streets of Zlín

Thanks to organizers from Samohýl Motor Holding a.s. the fans of beautiful vintage cars can again look forward to a demonstration drive and meeting of classic cars, mostly made by Bugatti, during the 4th Bugatti Grand Prix. The organizing team is headed by JUDr. Ing. Ladislav Samohýl, a successful businessman from Zlín and big lover of classic cars in one person.

The vintage cars will appear on the route of the Super Special Stage in the streets of Zlín on Friday 29 August as a prologue before start of the main Barum Czech Rally Zlín competitors' field. Before this demonstration drive these vintage cars will be displayed in a park around the Zlín castle. People can commemorate times, when cars were very different from each other and when its drivers had to drive or brake without any mechanical assistance or electronics. Like in previous year during the exhibition drive can be seen cars of various brands like Darracq, Laurin&Klement, Škoda, Walter, Mercedes-Benz, Aero, Hispano and others. The oldest car in the group will be a 1907 Laurin&Klement, type F.

After the exhibition drive there will go on the Bugatti Grand Prix. There will appear ten Bugatti cars joined by other vintage cars by Jaguar, MG Midget, Alfa Romeo or Amilcar. The crews will do the Zlín circuit three times and with time measuring, where the best two laps in terms of regularity drive will be count. In previous editions of Zlín vintage cars race there appeared many famous names behind the Bugattis' wheels such Frenchman Jean-Pierre Nicolas, a former winner of five WRC rallies and WRC vice-champion in once, Mrs. Pernilla Solberg, very successful female rally driver and wife of the 2003 WRC champion Petter Solberg, or double European rally champion Luca Rossetti. As a co-driver there appeared also famous Czech actor Bolek Polívka. Let's wait which celebrity will take a ride in this year!

4:15 p.m. – 4:40 p.m. – ceremonial start at Náměstí Míru
6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – exhibition drive of vintage cars at Zlín Super Special Stage
7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – Bugatti race at Zlín Super Special Stage
